Personal Opinion

At last I have finished reading the second mystery (question) arc of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Not just that, I have also re-read the fourth and the first story arc, Himatsubushi and Onikakushi. Even though I only skimmed through the last two, it was still exhausting.

Reading psychological manga such was never a walk in the park, especially when you’re reading the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni series. Throughout the second arc, I kept trying to connect the plot of Watanagashi with that of Himatsubushi and Onikakushi. Some are connected, some simply made the overall storyline much more confusing.

Watanagashi is not strongly connected to Himatsubushi. I see Himatsubushi showing the big picture of what’s going on in Hinamizawa village without any details. On the other hand, Watanagashi has a strong connection with Onikakushi. Both arcs could be view as the same plot but from a different character’s point of view.

Personal Opinion

This one is a beauty. I’m certain that every horror/thriller/mystery manga fans would love this manga. The author manage to keep this manga full of mysteries and suspense up to the very end. This is not something any manga fans will regret reading.

The story was about a peaceful village named Hinamizawa. The environment and the neighborhood is so peaceful and friendly that Keiichi Maebara (the protagonist) never regret moving to this place. Following how Keiichi tries to fit in really made it feel like there’s nothing wrong with this village.

Personal Opinion

Although short, this manga had a good amount of suspense within its plot. For the weak at heart, the horror would be sufficient for you to call 911; or maybe I’m just exaggerating. At the very least, this manga had been successful in giving me goosebumps.

In the beginning, you wouldn’t suspect the manga to be a horror; unless you’re reading a review (such as this one) previously. The beginning of the story simply involves some …
