Personal Opinion

Reading about mysteries, thrilling, horrific and sometimes depressing manga is not always my preference. There are times when I feel like reading something hilarious and fun or at the very least relaxing. This is where Daichouhen Doraemon comes.

Daichouhen Doraemon brings nostalgic feeling to when I was a kid. Those are the times when I have no worries over anything in this world, the times when I feel most relaxed in my entire life, even though I only read the regular Doraemon manga back then.

Personal Opinion

Out of 21 volumes of “Alive – The Final Evolution”, I’ve only finished reading up to volume 17. Unfortunately I’m lacking enthusiasm to continue reading this manga. The fact is, this manga has an interesting story to follow. It’s just that for someone who reads a good amount of manga, “Alive – The Final Evolution” has little to offer within its plot. From my point of view, the flow of the storyline was quite typical.

The start of the story was great. It involves an mysterious invasion of unknown beings that invaded the human heart. In every heart being invaded, these unknown beings would look for holes within the heart. It fills these holes with the desire to commit suicide. It’s like these beings forced the thought that being dead will fill the holes and ensure happiness to the humans. With the rising rate of suicide cases worldwide, there appears to be people who actually defies the urge to die and stayed alive. The people who stayed alive suddenly gain super powers similar.

Personal Opinion

This one is a beauty. I’m certain that every horror/thriller/mystery manga fans would love this manga. The author manage to keep this manga full of mysteries and suspense up to the very end. This is not something any manga fans will regret reading.

The story was about a peaceful village named Hinamizawa. The environment and the neighborhood is so peaceful and friendly that Keiichi Maebara (the protagonist) never regret moving to this place. Following how Keiichi tries to fit in really made it feel like there’s nothing wrong with this village.

Personal Opinion

Here comes another review about twisted horror from Junji Ito: Uzumaki. As with Gyo, Junji Ito sure knows his way around in making bizarre horror. The unusual horror you’ll find in Gyo will most likely be found in every single chapter of Uzumaki. It’s nowhere near to what Uzumaki Naruto has to offer.

Uzumaki tells the story of the mysterious events took place in a small town named Kurozu-cho. This small and remote town located on the coast of Japan is cursed by spirals. Yes, spirals. That supposedly common thing actually brings disaster to the people living in Kurozu-cho.

Personal Opinion

Would you like to read a story about fish with legs roaming on the land, especially that these fish were actually dead even though the legs are functioning normally?

If you’re into that kind of stuff, then I guess Gyo is the manga for you. Gyo tells the story of a mysterious phenomena where legged-fish are roaming the mainland of Japan spreading germs, causing diseases, and in turn creating chaos all over Japan.

Personal Opinion

From my point of view, Dragon Half is a romantic comedy with gags right from the start of the story. It features a fantasy world of dragons focusing on the adventure of a young dragon-half girl named Mink.

Mink is the daughter of a retired -nevertheless famous- dragon slayer  (father) and a red dragon (mother). Thus Mink inherited her father’s skill and her mother’s extraordinary power. Making it easy for her to defeat all the enemies (i.e.: monsters for dinner) standing before her.
