Plot Summary
For Kanade this world is a world of the blindfolded. Every human has their own blindfold that make them cannot see their future. But Kanade’s blindfold is broken. Sometimes her blindfold gone when she touch other people that made her possible to see their future.

But Kanade is not the only one. She met Aro Naito; a new student at her school. If Kanade can see the future, Aro can see the past. A little different with Kanade who can only see it sometimes, Aro can always see the past of someone or something when he touch them.

Then they met Namiki, who can see the future of people like Kanade. Namiki can control his ability. He can see what he want to see. Suddenly they become friends. Together they face many experiences. They had to understand that not every people can accept their ability. Almost all people always frightened by their ability and consider them as evil. Even their own friends at school avoid them when those friends know about their ability.

Personal Opinion
Maybe Mekakushi no Kuni is a little bit complicated. But I personally think that it is not that complex. With cute illustration and so many bishounen, Mekakushi no Kuni is pretty entertaining. You can find romantic love story about Kanade and Aro. You can also find heart-warming friendship between Kanade, Aro, Namiki and the others. Sakura Tsukuba also adds a bit comedy in it as you can find many wise messages when you read it.

Mekakushi no Kuni is one touching manga. It tells you about love, friendship, and life. Sometimes if we want to help people, they maybe mad because they think that there is nothing wrong with them. Other times we had a big eagerness to help someone, but has no ability to help them. These are what Kanade, Aro, and Namiki faced. But maybe we also has experienced this kind of situations. Aren’t we?

About the illustration, Sakura Tsukuba draws less background. She often leave the background blank. But she is still good in details when she draw the background. The illustration match the plot. She draws cute and handsome characters. Even I’m in love with one of them (Aro Naito XD).

The characters are strong, but maybe a little bit too perfect. Combination of beauty face and beauty mind. Too bad there are too many bishounen (extra service for you, girls). Eventhough that, Mekakushi no Kuni is one of my favorite manga (that’s why I like to review it). And this one is highly recommended too. Especially for girls.

Personal Rating
9.5/10

  1. Maria, komennya pake bahasa aja ya? ^^
di Indo diterbitin jd “Behind the Blindfold” kan?
    aku jg suka manga ini.
ada sedih, ada yg bikin getir (penolakan orang2), ada lucunya, ada cinta2annya jg.
tokoh cowoknya digambar manis bgt, pas buat cewek2 pecinta manga.
but for me, the rating is only 7,5 out of ten.
